Glaucoma

What is it? Glaucoma is an eye disease that increases the pressure inside the eye. It can be due to different specific causes, but usually involved a problem with the circulation of fluid within the eye. This condition is very painful and most cases lead to blindness.
Symptoms:Include a bulging appearance of the eye (the eyeball is hard with the pupil widely dilated, poor response to light), redness, tearing, pain, and blindness.
Diagnosis:An ophthalmologist can measure the internal eye pressure with the appropriate instrument and can provide a definitive diagnosis.
Treatment:

Treatment for this condition depends on the specific cause. There are medical treatment options, but sometimes the eye may need to be surgically removed.
