Persistent Pupillary Membrane (PPM)

PPMs are remnants from fetal development, which do not usually interfere with sight, as long as it spans the iris. It is fairly prevalent in Leonbergers, but at this point in time, we consider it an insignificant finding that should be watched. The HREC recommends that dogs with PPM only be bred to dogs with clear eyes as determined by a CERF exam.
